COVID-19 Updates

2022 Season in Rocky Mountain National Park

As we begin our second season of expeditions in Rocky, we are optimistic about the COVID-19 outlook and have crafted our policies around keeping our participants and guides safe. We will screen participants for COVID-19 symptoms prior to trip departure, and ask participants to adhere to social distancing, mask wearing, and frequent hand washing practices for thirty days (30) prior to the trip departure date. Before Your Trip

In addition to the expedition protocols above, we have implemented additional pre-trip protocols on our end, including:

• Using prepackaged freeze-dried meals and other individually-packaged goods exclusively for all-inclusive meal trips,
• Distributing freeze-dried meals, snacks and hot drink mixes during pre-trip orientation for all-inclusive meal trips,
• Encouraging participants to bring and use their own stoves, if possible (for guests without stoves, guides will provide boiled water),
• Encouraging participants to bring their own tents, if possible (otherwise we can recommend rental locations),
• Ensuring that all shared gear (bear cans, group tarps, etc.) are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between expeditions,
• Asking that you continue to practice physical distancing and use of a facemark in all public spaces upon arrival in Estes Park,
• And attempting to fill our expeditions with private groups, when possible.

During Your Trip

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms during your trip, we will:

• Socially distance you from the rest of the group,
• Instruct you to wear a face covering at all times,
• And quickly and safely return to a trailhead, ending the expedition.

Participants and guides are required to abide by the following expedition practices to keep everyone safe, including:

• Daily health screenings for all participants and guides,
• Physical distancing from others who are not part of your traveling party and others recreating in the mountains,
• Mask wearing during transportation or when physical distancing is not possible (passing others on the trail),
• Frequent hand washing with soap and water, or, when not possible, alcohol-based hand sanitizer (required to bring),
• Exceptional personal hygiene and covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing,
• And avoiding touching of your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Participants will not receive refunds for an expedition that must end early due to participant health concerns or potential evacuation. We recommend purchasing trip insurance to help in the event of a trip interruption. Please read our Terms and Conditions page to better familiarize yourself with all of our policies. Thank you for being considerate of your fellow participants, guides and all other individuals in the mountains!
