Refund and Cancellation Policies

Rewilding Expeditions has crafted a flexible and accommodating cancellation policy and must adhere to the policies below. As a small company that offers personalized services, we attempt to accommodate changes when necessary and believe our policies give you the flexibility to take on big backcountry ambitions in times of uncertainty.

We reserve the right to cancel a trip for any reason and if we cancel your trip, we will fully refund the trip payment. If a trip is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to public land closures, border closures, civil unrest, public health emergencies and natural disasters, a credit toward a future trip in equal amount to the trip payment will be issued but we cannot refund the payment.

Rewilding Expeditions is not responsible for additional expenses incurred due to cancellations and we highly recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect your travel investment.

Participation Policy

Conditions and Participant Responsibility
Rewilding Expeditions screens applicants to insure participants are placed on expeditions that best fit their experience, fitness level and expectations. Rewilding Expeditions reserves the right to accept, decline or refuse service to any individual from participating on any expedition at any time.

Rewilding Expeditions makes every effort to uphold the scheduled itinerary but does not guarantee that you will complete the scheduled itinerary. Weather, route conditions, natural hazards, emergency situations or participant abilities may create circumstances that make the scheduled itinerary unsafe, and you or your entire group may be subject to itinerary changes and may not complete the scheduled itinerary. After departure, Rewilding Expeditions reserves the right to alter, omit or adapt any part of the itinerary without notice and without allowance of refund for reasons beyond our control or due to the needs of the group, with liability for any increased costs incurred by the expedition participant. Failure to complete the scheduled itinerary due to a participant’s own lack of fitness or for any of the events associated with wilderness expeditions (such as weather, route conditions, natural hazards, etc.), are not the responsibility of Rewilding Expeditions and will not result in refund or reschedule.

Participants agree to follow all Leave No trace practices during the expedition. Participants are prohibited from using drugs and alcohol while on our expeditions. If Rewilding Expeditions staff or volunteers take photographs or videos of participants, participants give consent for those photographs or videos to be used by Rewilding Expeditions for marketing and any other purposes and in any media.

Participants are responsible for their own well-being, their health and physical conditions, pre-departure planning and any incurred expense due to delay or trip cancellation. We highly recommend that all participants consider travel and trip cancellation insurance after purchasing an expedition. Travel insurance offers the best protection in the event of a sudden, unexpected illness, an injury prior to or while traveling, or a possible family emergency. If you choose not to purchase insurance, you assume full responsibility for any expenses incurred in the event of a medical emergency and/or evacuation, as well as for trip cancellation, interruption, lost luggage, etc. Rewilding Expeditions does not insure you against these risks. We ask that you consult your travel insurance carrier directly with questions.

Risk Form, Health Form and Emergency Contact Policy

Rewilding Expeditions is committed to the safety of our participants and guides. Due to the inherently dangerous nature of outdoor recreation activities in the backcountry, all participants must sign a Visitor’s Acknowledgement of Risks form. All participants under the age of 18 must have a Visitor’s Acknowledgement of Risks form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Additionally, a Health History and Fitness form or health questions must be filled out for each participant. The failure to disclose pertinent information on the Health History History and Fitness form or in health questions could result in serious harm, even death, to the signing participant, other guests and/or the guide. All information submitted is completely confidential; it is for the guide’s use and would only be shared in the event of an emergency with medical and/or rescue personnel directly caring for the participant. It is Rewilding Expeditions’ policy that all emergency contacts be a person over the age of 18 and not participating in the same guided trip. The Risk Form can be found in the Home tab dropdown menu. Health information can be obtained during checkout process.

Preparedness Policy

Rewilding Expeditions is happy to assist in every step of preparation for your adventure. We ask that participants come ready for the activity they’re participating in when their trip start date arrives. If you are using your own equipment (backpacks, snowshoes, skis, boots, etc.), please make sure it is in working condition when you arrive. If you will require rental equipment, we can recommend rental shops to meet your needs. Please coordinate with us ahead of time if you need help finding a rental shop. We are not partnered with rental shops and their gear is not included in the price of our expeditions. Their gear may require a separate liability waiver.
